Interests

My research interests focus on the structure of Algonquian languages, in particular Ojibwe, (Munsee) Delaware, and Cree, which are the three main Algonquian languages spoken in Ontario.

My dissertation research was a description and analysis of the derivational morphology of Munsee Delaware (O'Meara 1990).

I have completed a bilingual dictionary of Munsee Delaware, published by the University of Toronto Press (1997). I am woking on a reference grammar of the same language.

I have also completed a collection of Ojibwe texts from Lansdowne House, Ontario. This volume was published by Algonquian and Iroquoian Linguistics in 1996.
