NL 2711: Introduction to Native American Linguistics

Department of Languages / Faculty of Education

Lakehead University Winter 1999

Welcome to the Home Page for "NL 2711: Introduction to Native American Linguistics." During the academic year 1998-1999 this course is being taught at Lakehead University during the Winter semester, which runs from January 4-April 1, 1999.
This course is intended as a general introduction to the indigenous languages of North American. It does not require fluency in a particular native language or previous training in linguistics. This topic is a truly vast one, and I view the course as a way for students to get an introduction to accurate information about indigenous languages, as well as a resource for learning where to find further information about the huge number of interesting topics which are part of this area.
